inspiration and advice on interior design

lampshade! and I realise it’s tiny but it’s all I could get for £10:

I’m a hyper OCD organinsed freak, as some of you know, so I was delighted to find this apron. I’m guessing it’s written upside down so you can actually read it, or it’s mirror image?

See below for details:

“Do you get fed up of frantically thumbing through cook books while your goulash explodes? Or coating your keyboard in baked beans and bolognese whilst looking for help on Google?

Fear not! We have the solution, the humble recipe book has now been moved to the place you’re supposed to wipe your dirty hands, your apron!

The Apron Guide is full of useful information to help mealtimes easier. Amongst other things it lists:

•Numeric Conversions
•Cooking times for vegetables
•Roasting times for birds
•Freezing instructions
•Defrosting times
•A Cooking glossary
…and a whole lot more.

What’s more, unlike your traditional recipe book, if you do happen to spill some of your delicious creations on it you can simply pop it in the washing machine and hey presto it is good as new.

Never more will you be flustered in the kitchen as all the information is to hand and easy to read. Genius! This is sure to be a hit with all budding chefs or stressed parents everywhere!”

CSN Stores has amazing online stores where you can find everything from cookware to lights to furniture, and I am delighted to be reviewing another of their wonderful products. My bedroom is in great need of a new light fitting, currently it has a nasty line of bulbs set in a chrome bar in the style of a little boys bedroom. As our ceiling is very low due to us being in the attic room I will need something fairly high up,  however I rather like the idea of a chandelier which I know is totally unpractical but when it comes to the bedroom, do you want practicality? Choosing a wardrobe can be a tough decision with alot of factors to consider as they can be expensive, yet will be a stable piece which can last years. Check out my post on Pippa Jameson Interiors, it advises which wardrobe to choose.

I recieved my products from CSN stores before I went on holiday, luckily I had ordered rapid ice water cooler as the South of France was sweltering. I also received an egg poacher, spatula and a Kenwood compact food processor which have all made my life a lot easier in the kitchen! I really like the fact that they source the best products from different suppliers so that you don’t have to endlessly search, plus they are very affordable and quick.

Bonjour!

I am off to the South of France for a much needed holiday. We will be staying in the beautiful French farm house that is Mas Cagnet. I cannot wait to just chill out and lounge by the pool all day! There are also some gorgeus lakes and forests nearby which I will be exploring. I’m hoping to do a bit of sketching and thinking whilst I’m there, it will be strange not having a computer in front of me all day. This is my excuse for no posts from Thursday onwards till I’m back.

I have an obsession with wings and love painting them, however I try not to go on about them too much when it comes to interiors as I’d get carried away. My wonderful friend in Australia alerted me to this gorgeus lampshade designed by Tord Boontje for Artecnica. It is a very light weight and elegant design that resembles the soft glowing feathers of an angel’s wing. “The idea of the design is inspired by the fluttering wings of a bird. Designer Tord Boontje is a young designer whose brilliant designs and ideas were based on nature and organic themes. The design is a unique combination of nature, and modern day technology.”

You can purchase one from Dutch by design, which has lots of other quirky products worth looking at.

Whilst having my daily fix on design sponge I saw these gorgeus lamps from Chen Karlsson made for you to display some of your favourite things. I’ve got gadgets and gizmos aplenty so one of these would suit me well. You could change them every so often  with themed or seasonal displays.

I’m rather excited as I will be soon reviewing a product or two of my choice from CSN Stores.

CSN Stores have three wonderful websites with a great range of high end, yet affordable products for the home, where you can find everything from cookware to ceiling lights to furniture! I’ve been having a little browse and already found some great discounted products. The three sites have specific products giving you a wide range from the decandent to the sleek and sophisticated. Watch this space for my review!
